Summer at the Oslofjord Museum

Throughout July, the Oslofjord Museum offers free admission for everyone – a perfect opportunity to explore the museum in Vollen with friends and family.

We've created a summer scavenger hunt through the exhibition to make your visit even more enjoyable. If you like listening to stories, you can also join a guided tour.

We present "Fjord Tales," an exhibition with various stories from the Oslofjord. Through these stories, you gain insight into the significance of the fjord for many people today.

In the exhibition "Life with Boats," we showcase some of the boats from the museum's collection. These leisure boats, built or used in the Oslofjord, evoke memories of vacation days, and some are simply beautiful craftsmanship that is fun to look at. Each boat has its own album filled with stories from a life at sea.

Another exhibition you can enjoy with an ice cream or a cup of coffee in hand is our outdoor exhibition in the museum harbor. This summer, we focus on the reuse of boats. The exhibition opens with the presentation of a restoration award on Saturday, June 16th, and is on display all summer.

Our museum café is open daily and offers good coffee, snacks, and ice cream. You are also welcome to bring your own packed lunch. We also have a selection of beach toys available for loan. The museum is beautifully located by the beach in Vollen, so make a trip to Vollen, visit the museum, enjoy the beach, or walk the coastal path.

Welcome to a pleasant holiday day by the Oslofjord with us!
