Linderud Manor is an old estate on the site of an historical farm dating back to the Middle Ages. It has for generations belonged to the Mathiesen family, and included at its height hundreds of thousands of acres of forest, multiple sawmills, and some 350 farmsteads.

The Gardens

Linderud Manor features one of Norway’s best-preserved historical gardens. Here you will find winding pathways, perennials, orchards, ponds, a tunnel of arched hazel, and promenades lined with linden trees.

The building

The Manor House, originally built as a summer residence by Erich Mogenssøn in 1713, features a mixture of Baroque and Empire styles. In 1812 Haagen Mathiesen renovated the building for year-round residency.
