The story of Grinis's camp management and its prison guards is complex and contradictory. Some were known for their brutal conduct, others for their humanity.

There were many different types of people who took on the job as prison guards at Grini. Male and female, Germans, Norwegians as well as other nationalities, those who were ardent supporters of Nazism, and those who had no relation to the ideology before they started working at a Nazi prison camp.

There are many stories about the brutal behavior of the prison guards. But there are also stories that contain small glimpses of humanity, and prison guards who helped prisoners.

Each box in the exhibition represents a person. In addition to biographical information about camp leaders and prison guards, their own words and descriptions and those of the prisoners are also featured.

On the box itself, you get a brief meeting with the prison guard, but if you pull out one of the three drawers, you get more in depth information.
