Finding Meaning in the Meaningless
Although stripped of their physical freedom by control and oppression, the prisoners could not be deprived of their inner thoughts, dreams and desires. To keep their hope for a future of peace and freedom, it was important to find meaning in prison life.
The exhibition shows the methods the prisoners used to endure prison life. In four display cabinets you'll see objects, letters, music, films and drawings. Through humor, friendship, creativity and thoughts of their loved ones back home, the prisoners kept hope alive.
