Lars Faller (1925-2016)
Lars Faller was an active outdoorsman and merchant from Fetsund. The kayak that hangs on the wall was a very important part of Lars Faller's life. He used it every weekend all year round, even during the winter where he would paddle between ice floes wearing thick wooly clothing. From the kayak he hunted ducks, fished with lures and set nets. During the 1960s and 1970’s, Lars Faller was part of the local game management in Nordre Øyeren nature reserve.
The kayak is from 1925 and has never been rebuilt or changed. The original oar of the kayak could be divided in two and had a copper sleeve in the middle. The oar blade itself had a copper reinforcement. Unfortunately, the original oar was lost 20 years ago, probably around Stasjonsstranda in Fetsund.
